The north wind and the sun disputed which of them was the stronger, when a traveller passed by who was wrapped in a warm coat.

The two agreed that the one who could first force the traveller to take off his coat would be considered stronger than the other.

Then the north wind blew as strong as it could, but the more it blew, the more the traveller wrapped his coat around him, and finally the north wind gave up the attempt.

Then the sun shone warmly, and immediately the traveller took off his coat.

In this way, the north wind was forced to admit that the sun was the stronger of the two.

Upon a hill, a sheep which didn't have any wool saw horses: one of them pulled a heavy cart, one carried a large load, and one carried a man quickly. The sheep said to the horses, “My heart pains me when I see a man who guides horses.” The horses said, “Listen, sheep, our hearts pain us when we see this: a man, the master, makes from the wool of the sheep a warm garment. And the sheep has no wool.” When the sheep heard this, it fled into the plain.

1. I believe in one God, who is Father and Almighty, who created heaven and earth, everything we see and what is invisible to us.

2. And in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, who was born of the father before all ages. He is light which comes from light, is true God from true God, who was born and who was not created, who is of the same substance as the Father, and through him all things became.

3. For us, humans, and for our salvation, he came down from heaven and took our flesh from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Maria, and became human.

4. He was crucified for us when Pontius Pilate was governor, and suffered, and was buried.

5. The third day after his death, he was resurrected from the dead, in accordance with the Scriptures.

6. And he rose up into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father.

7. And he shall come again with glory, to judge living and dead, and there shall be no end to His rule.

8. (I believe) Also in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the life-giver, who proceeds from the Father, who is worshipped and praised together with the Father and the Son, and who spoke through the prophets.

9. In one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.

10. I admit one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

11. I look forward to a resurrection of dead.

12. And life of the future age.

Amen.

1. And all the earth had one language and one voice.

2. And when they moved from the east, they found a field in the land Senaar; and they settled there.

3. And the one said to the other: Come, let us make bricks, and let us burn them in fire; and the bricks (on the one hand) served them intead of stone, the asphalt (on the other hand) served them instead of clay.

4. And they said: Come, let us construct for ourselves a city and a tower, whose tip may reach unto the sky; and let us obtain for ourselves a name, lest we be scattereed upon the face of the earth.

5. And the Lord came down in order to see the city and the tower which the sons of men were building.

6. And the Lord said, Behold a people, and they all have one language, and they have started to do this; and now, everything they plan to do shall not be hindered them.

7. Come, let us go down, and let us confuse there their language, that the one may not understand the language of the other.

8. And the Lord scattered them from there upon the face of all the earth; and they stopped constructing the city.

9. Therefore, its name was called Vavel [that is to say, Confusion], for there the Lord did confuse the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord did scatter them upon the face of all the earth.
